AREAS OF EXPERTISE

Dr Diamantopoulos specialise in a wide range of diagnostic and minimal invasive therapeutic procedures covering all areas of minimal invasive image guided surgery in the field of diagnostic and interventional radiology. An indicative list of procedures can be found below.

Diagnostic Imaging

We provide a wide variety of diagnostic scans and reports including ultrasound, Computer tomography (CT) and MRI scans with special interest in vascular imaging both arterial and venous disease.

Interventional Oncology

We provide  all types of diagnostic, palliative and therapeutic image guided procedures. Examples include vascular access with insertion of PORTs, Hickman lines and Peripheral inserted central catheters (PICC lines) for administration of chemotherapy or other treatments, image guided biopsies, image guided embolisation and tumour ablations both for treatment and pain management, chemical neurolysis for cancer pain management and other specialised treatments.

Vascular Interventional Radiology

We provide a wide variety of high end specialised treatments for peripheral arterial disease  and peripheral venous acute and chronic disease. we treat challenging below the knee obstructive disease with main focus in the diabetic foot management. One of the few experts in the UK to treat peripheral arterial disease below the ankle.

Non Vascular Interventional Radiology

we provide  a wide range of  non vascular image guided procedures for a variety of medical conditions. few examples include: Testicular and ovarian vein embolisation, image guided drains (i.e. collections, nephrostomies, billiary  drains etc), uterine artery embolisation for management of symptomatic fibroids. insertion of feeding tubes, dilation of strictures causing obstruction etc

Arterial Vascular Interventions

We provide a wide range of simple and complex arterial vascular procedures. These include the management of the symptoms of peripheral arterial disease either if this is presented as claudication or critical limb threatening schema (CLTI). These included but not limited to

  • Iliac, femoropopliteal, infrapopliteal and pedal angioplasty using a variety of techniques such as subintimal angioplasty, infrainguinal and infrapopliteal (below the knee and below the ankle)  angioplasty, use of drug-coated balloons and drug-eluting stents
  • Atherectomy of all the infrainguinal (lower limb arteries

Management and treatment of acute limb ishemia using the latest techniques in the filed including:

  • catheter-directed thrombolysis,
  • percutenous thrombectomy
  • catheter directed thrombo-aspiration.

Other arteries treated;

  • Renal and other visceral recanalisation
